Lucky Bull Grill in Carlsbad

Server was nice. Food ordered and brought out pretty dang quick. The burger was amazing!! And the fried mushrooms were a nice hot appetizer.

Best food ever wow. The cheesy grits, green chili pountine were dream worthy. All the food was fantastic. This is where the locals go.

Very nice saloon/restaurant. Excellent craft beer selection mostly from nearby brewers. And, and this is important, it has pork wings, jerk seasoning or buffalo. Go with the jerk. New to me, and, awesome. Wait staff very professional and pleasant, even in dealing with drunk cow boys.

Well my chicken sandwich (BBQ) was alright but my co workers chicken fried steak was absolutely false. The steak was hanging over the plate but when they both cut in to it, it was all flour batter!! Little piece of meat an chunks of batter. I would not recommend that plate for anyone.

Apatizers good but bad meal meh and one of ours was freezer spoiled

I was super please with both the service and the quality of the food. I personally recommend the “Jammin Bacon Burger”. Fantastic. I’ll be back!

Good food at reasonable prices. Serving sizes aren't monsterous, but decent. Salsa and cheese appetizer good. They were out of several adult beverage options. Desert blueberry cobbler cheesecake was ok. Main dishes I saw/tasted were beef tip bowl (good, but not quite cooked per the order), mahi (good seasoning). I'd go back!

Wanted place that wasn't a chain. This fit the bill. Great local beer selection and original burgers cooked to order. Friendly service.

Parking at this business is almost non-existent. There are a few spots on the side and front but you'll probably end up parking on the street. The "main" entrance is hard to identify, just look for the big metal door that looks like the entrance to a shady nightclub. Once you're inside, you're welcomed with an industrial decor and a friendly hello. The AC isn't really keeping up but you're not sweating either, so if you're going for drinks you'll end up being uncomfortable. (Note: Not a full bar, beer/wine only.) The food? Avoid the 'pub slaw' and their fish & chips is actually fried catfish (WHAT?!) so that's interesting. That said, two picky eaters in our group really liked the food. I wasn't one of them. If you're looking for a good burger and a beer then it might be worth a try.

The only thing that they should do is adjust the lighting. This gem is very eclectic in comparison to other Carlsbad eateries. Ambient lighting would take it to the next level. Service was great. They should also introduce a DJ one night per week. Their current set up would work with minimal effort.

Friendly staff, and great food. The El hefe burger is my go-to. Try the green chili cheesy grits. One of the best sit-down restaurants in town!

I give the waitresses 5 stars. The service is amazing and the hostess is always great with my 3 daughters. But the food isn't great and every time I go they are always telling me that several things on the menu aren't available. Maybe they need new management 🤷‍♂️

The atmosphere was nice, but the food was decent I wouldn't call it top notch. It wasn't all hyped up as a lot of people said it would be. Also it was a bit pricey........but hey if your looking for an outing, it's an ok place.

Food was served cold. When returned food took 20 minutes to get fresh fries. Our waitress did a poor job. Another one brought our food and kept our drinks filled. Never go back.

We came here to Lucky Bull Grill at the end of May 2019. We were very glad we found this little gem, their food was delicious. We stayed near by after visiting the Carlsbad Caverns. Friendly service, clean good mom and pop food, we would definitely come here again if we are out this way. They are also Keto friendly meaning they will do a protein style meal that's always a plus in my book.

Tasty fare, fresh & well-prepared, complemented by a roster of craft beer, including area brews. Good service. Would have been five stars if they weren't charging $2 for a beer taste to see which one to order.

My grown son and I came out to climb Guadalupe Peak. We decided to stay in Carlsbad. Looking for restaurants for the weekend, we both agreed we should save Lucky Bull for after the hike. We were right!! Came off the mountain Saturday evening and made our way to Lucky Bull. Our waitress, Cheyenne, was very helpful and fun. She recommended the Dirty Chips as an appetizer and she was right! We were starving so wanted everything on the menu. We decided to "start with" one thing and order more if needed. He got the Lucky Bull burger and I got the Black and Bleu Burger. We were both very satisfied. Cool little joint with a great beer selection. I don't see myself coming back to Carlsbad on purpose, but if I do, you can find me here. Ask for Cheyenne. She's the bomb!!

Great food and great service. Our server Clarissa was fabulous. The ribeye was cooked perfectly, and the agave sunrise was as pretty as it was delicious. Cant believe i waited ao long to come here .

Very nice restaurant. Menu was interesting and very long beer list with short explanations on each beer. Staff was very knowledgeable and helpful in picking local craft beers. Recommend getting any of the appetizers for the table. They also have daily specials that rotate.

Lucky Bull had the perfect pub food after a long day of hiking. Service was fast. Would recommend to others who are looking for a casual lunch/dinner spot.

Great food, atmosphere and service. They have a really different take on everyday foods which works!!! Any time I am back in Carlsbad I will be going back. Try it you will not be disappointed.

This place is our favorite place to eat in Carlsbad. The service is awesome and they offer brews that are crafted here in New Mexico. I recommend trying the green chile grits because they are super good 😁👌The atmosphere is comfortable and they usually have sports on so if don't feel like talking much you can watch while you're there.

Food was cold, beer was not. Waitress super kind, but super slow. Nice breeze on patio.

Lucky Bull Grill and Bar is a fantastic locally owned place to eat, enjoy some live music, or host an event. The food here is full of flavor and their beer list is extensive. My favorites are the Shrimp and Grits and the Bosque Scotia Limited. During the week they have live music up stares and karaoke one night a week. The upstairs is also available or renting for special events. Definitely come down and enjoy your time!

Order burgers and poutine for takeout! Delicious food and great staff!

Friendly service. Great allergy awareness. Nice craft beer selection with plenty of local options. Really good chicken sandwiches and burgers. Definitely NOT run-of- the-mill. And if you like grits, choose the green chili grits as your side.

Good local food place (Informal hole in the wall, which I like) with a nice beer selection. Poutine fries and the green chili grits were both different and good, burgers and wraps were well prepared but not spectacular. Service was really friendly. Overall a good family dining experience. Suggested by our B&B and they were right!

Found this yummy local place to replenish us after our Carlsbad Caverns adventure. Tried the New Mexico fish & chips (catfish), chili, BBQ chicken sandwich, and burgers. Hubby tried the cheddar green chile grits, which were the first WOW bite of our trip. Would visit again.

Beer selection, excellent. Salads (w/ in-house garlic vinaigrette!) terrific. Staff - helpful. Burger - very mediocre.

We absolutely loved the burgers, and service. Definitely will come back when my fiance and i have our honey moon trip.

We visited shortly before 5pm and the place was consistently busy. There is bet and wine available but no liquor. They have a menu packed full of local taps for you to choose from. The food menu is full of a variety of cuisines. My husband ordered the pig wings with jerk sauce and they were excellent. I ordered the Bacon jam burger to go with house chips. I am not exaggerating when I tell you this burger was one of the best I've ever had. The meat is high quality and the jam was to die for. The chips were crunchy and salty and not to greasy. Our bartender was very friendly and attentive. Our to go orders were packaged with care and even the burgers were wrapped in paper. We are from out of town but if we ever find our way back we will come back here for sure!

We ordered the Dirty Chips which were super good. He ordered the blue cheese cheeseburger and I ordered the fish and chips. Let me tell you no complaints on either dish.

Had the Fish Basket for $10.00 it was great. They offered for us to come in and pay or meet us at the door. We choose to meet at the door. thank you Lucky Bull and your staff for a great meal.

Truly marginal. This place uses to be my favorite restaurant in Carlsbad. Now? The food has consistently (and by consistently I mean over the last 6 months) been so bland. Atmosphere? Chill, I can appreciate that! :)

Great selection of craft beers, the bacon blue burger was outstanding and you have to try the Poutine

When we got there we were seated within 5 minutes. I ordered the Full Ceasar Salad. My husband ordered a burger. We both enjoyed our food. We also got some chips and queso and that was really good as well. I enjoyed my unsweet tea.

Me and my wife loooooooove coming to this grill. If you haven't stopped here yet....you might wanna give it a try. Try their Ribeye, its amazing. Plus they have Mario Kart and Super Smash tournaments every now and then

I went with my husband for a work xmas party and it was very good and we of course had fun on the second floor. Food is great who can go wrong with the green chile grits?!?! No one!!

Visiting from Fort Worth. After hiking Guadalupe Peak we were hungry for a good steak. A local recommended this place and we were not disappointed. The steaks were cooked just like we asked for, the fish and chips were great and so was the chicken Alfredo. The green chili grits were delicious. Great service. We will definitely stop by next time we are in Town.

No waiting beer was hot food was average nothing to brag about
